Here are some helpful tips and tricks to help guide you along your day trip to Russian River Valley:

First, let’s start with places to eat. Downtown Bakery & Creamery located in Healdsburg, offers freshly baked bread and pastries daily and a full cafe menu on the weekends. Start your day off strong with the most important meal of the day and fuel up for shopping, wine tasting, or anything else the day has in store for you.

For a more upscale and elegant dining experience, check out Valette. Although they are described as elegant, they are also down to earth and the perfect picture of a wine country establishment.

Another great option is the Russian River Pub, which gives guests a classic small town pub experience with some great food that will please the whole family.

Now that your bellies are full, let’s check out some of the wineries you will want to stop at. First off, Sonoma-Cutrer is a must for all wine lovers! They of course are known for their delicious wine tastings, but they also have two croquet courts that host annual world championships. These courts are available for guests to use during the off season.

Head on over to Merry Edwards Winery, which is owned by Merry Edwards also known as “First Lady of Sonoma Pinot Noir.” Tastings here are free and we are positive you will find a bottle or two you will love!

Next, stop on by the Joseph Swan Winery to experience some other varieties that are more uncommon…but equally delicious. Their tasting room is located within the barrel room for a unique and laid-back experience.

There are of course other options for things to do while visiting that don’t include wine tasting. You can float the Russian River with a guide or by yourselves, but either way you will see amazing views and pretty wildlife. Also floating down the river with a glass of wine in hand…what could be better?!

You can also check out the Forestville Farmers Market every Tuesday until October. They provide fresh and local produce, bread, cheese and more that are perfect for a snack break between wineries!

As you can see, there are so many fun and exciting things to do if you plan a day trip to the Russian River Valley. So make sure you carve out some time in your upcoming trip to make it happen and book your stay at RiverPointe Napa Valley today!
