Napa Valley is entering a fun and exciting time of year…Harvest Season! Every year from August through October, Napa comes to life with the excitement of harvest. Winery teams are working to gather grapes for crush, and some even offer special harvest tours so you can witness the winery production facilities in action. One of the highlights of Harvest Season is grape stomping, or crush like we mentioned earlier. Most wineries will refer to this fun and unique activity as a crush party, and appropriately named because there is so much fun to be had with this experience!
If you find yourself visiting Napa Valley this weekend, you can attend a crush party at Bouchaine Vineyards on October 1st. This crush party includes a grape picking contest! Clip clusters from the vine, stomp the grapes, and get a sneak peek taste of 2023 vintage wines from the tank. There is even a prize for the biggest grape harvest! Price is $150 per person, or $100 if you are a wine club member.
Next, there is an event called Behind the Cellar Door: A Harvest Experience at Cuvaison Estate Wines. On October 7th, you can enjoy this immersive experience during Harvest Season. The day starts in the vineyards and on their crush pad, where you can partake in various winery tasks and contribute to the creation of their 2023 wines. After you spend the afternoon with the winery team, relax and enjoy a dinner with their most prized wines in the vineyard house. This event is $185 per adult.
Another crush party is happening on October 13th at V. Sattui Winery. Get behind the scenes action of a working winery. You can participate in the old-fashioned grape stomp, like most of the crush parties offer. You can also meet their growers and winemakers that are involved with the winery. This is an open house event that will also include live music, food and a chance to taste over 45 wines! Prices for this event are $175 per person, unless you are a part of the wine club then it would cost $140.
